The Trimble® R6 GPS Receiver is a high-precision satellite positioning system designed for surveying, mapping, georeferencing, and geospatial data acquisition applications. Based on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, the instrument is capable of determining coordinates with centimetre-level accuracy in real time using Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning or through post-processing. It is widely used for fieldwork in environmental sciences, engineering, geology, and coastal monitoring.
The Trimble® R6 integrates the GPS antenna, receiver, battery, and communication systems into a single unit, providing a compact, rugged solution suitable for demanding field conditions. Depending on the system configuration, it can operate as either a rover or a base station, communicating via UHF radio or cellular networks to receive or transmit the differential corrections required for RTK positioning.
The instrument supports static, kinematic, and real-time surveying, and is compatible with GPS and, in later versions, additional GNSS constellations, increasing satellite availability and improving measurement reliability in challenging environments. Bluetooth® technology enables wireless communication with Trimble field controllers, facilitating survey configuration and direct data collection in the field.
